Hokki curry
What is Hokki curry?
Hokki curry (ほっきカレー・ホッキカレー・ホッキ貝カレー) is a curry made with surf clams (Hokkaido surf clams) as an ingredient.
It is often eaten in households in areas where surf clams are landed, and is characterized by the use of surf clams instead of meat (although meat may also be added).
In particular, “Hokki curry (Tomakomai Hokki curry)” from Tomakomai City, Hokkaido, which boasts the highest amount of surf clams landed in Japan, is famous and is known as a local Hokkaido gourmet dish and local curry. It is also called ホッキ貝カレーライス – surf clam curry rice.
